GET YOUR MIND RIGHT

My initial sermon as a Minister in the gospel was entitled “GET YOUR MIND RIGHT”. In this message, I discussed our spiritual thought process in regards to the world in which we live in and the daily battles and challenges we face in it. The message was preached to remind believers that the battles that we embrace and fight day to day are not to be viewed from a fleshly perspective but rather a spiritual one.

According to the scripture in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NKJV) “3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” This scripture advises us that our battles are spiritual and should be viewed from a spiritual perspective!

So what does this mean and or apply to weight loss…THE SAME THING!!! Yessssss huntie! In order for us to actually understand our true responsibility to self, we must recognize and view it from a spiritual perspective. We must understand that this body has been given to us on borrowed time so we are sort of like a leased vehicle. Now even when leasing a vehicle it is yours for the time that you have it and therefore you are required to keep up with the up keep and maintenance of the vehicle. In order for it to continue to flow and operate as you require it to you must then do your part!!!

Spiritually and physically our bodies have needs and we must have our minds set on supplying our body with what it needs. We know that we need food for fuel and we need water to stay hydrated but we also need exercise to help our body. We need this to not only stay physically fit but to keep us healthy also!!! Regular exercise along with a healthy diet can add years to your life. Just a simple 30 minutes of cardiovascular activity three to five times a week can add somewhere around six years to your life. Regular exercise along with a healthy diet will naturally boost your energy, improve your mood, strengthen your mind, fight off colds and viruses, fight off chronic disease, and improve blood pressure. GO figure….. lol!

So Butterflies if we shift our minds to think about diet and exercise from a spiritual place we will recognize the importance of lifestyle committed to health, fitness, and wellness. Remember that the battle starts in our minds and when we discipline our minds we will then have victory. Yes, we must cast down fried for baked, we must cast down supersize and focus on portion control, we must sacrifice sweets for veggies and fruits, we must get up early or go late and hit the gym, and we must forfeit laziness and get out and be active. Physically and spiritually our lives depend on it!

Make the choice today and choose to get your MIND RIGHT in order to live the life that GOD intended you to live; a life full of overflow and abundance!!!
